How does airbrush tanning work?

The active ingredient that is used in all sunless tanning products is Dihydroxyacetone (DHA). This ingredient is derived from plants such as sugar cane and sugar beets. When applied, it reacts with dead skin cell's in the skin's surface layer to temporarily darken the skin and stimulate a tan. The development of color takes anywhere from 1-8 hours and the intensity of tan depends on DHA concentration in the product as well as each person's melanin levels. The tan will gradually fade through natural skin exfoliation just like a natural tan from the sun.

Will my tan turn orange?

Not with my technique! I take pride in using top of the line, vegan solutions that have very natural ingredients and zero odor. I also carry different DHA percentage solutions to give each client a customized shade after we do a quick skin consultation on your skin type and desired level of tan.

How many days before my special event or vacation should I book my appointment?

I recommend at least 1-2 days before your special event or vacation. The airbrush tan typically lasts 7-12 days, depending on how well you follow the prep & after care instructions. I recommend showering at least twice before your special event to ensure all excess bronzer is completely rinsed and to avoid any transfer onto your clothing, especially brides in white gowns! What do I wear during the tan?

You wear whatever you are comfortable with. Whether you want tan lines or don't want tan lines, that's up to you. I have no preference, as I have been doing tans for years. I just want you to leave happy with your tan!

Is Airbrush Tanning Safe While Pregnant or Nursing?

My solution is a vegan formula. However, I do require you to consult with your physician or bring a note. DHA is only approved by the FDA for external applications. All pregnant women MUST wear disposable nose filters that are provided at your appointment. All nursing mothers MUST cover their nipples during their tanning session. Please notify me if you think you may be pregnant, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
